Quietpubs: O'Donoghues

O'Donoghues

Dublin, Ireland

15 Merrion Row

While certainly not quiet at night when a session is going on and seats are at a premium, this pub possesses an atmosphere that simply does not exist in pubs located outside of Ireland. It is a shrine to Irish folk music of the last 45 years (specifically the Dubliners) its walls covered with the photographs of musicians who have played (or drank) there over the decades. Sunday mornings to the early afternoon are a special time. Forcing back the effects of the night before with a slowly supped pint one can enjoy the musicians who have the decency to keep everyone entertained at a pleasant volume. Great staff, fantastic pints. Can't wait to go back.
